HAMILTON, Ontario – On Side Restoration Services Ltd. is pleased to announce their continued Ontario expansion with a new Hamilton Branch led by Brandon Boyd, Branch Manager. The Hamilton Branch will service the Greater Hamilton Region, Brantford, Burlington and St. Catharine’s/Niagara. “I’ve been searching for my next career challenge within the emergency property sector and On Side fit the bill on multiple levels: a strong national player, healthy corporate culture and growth focused. Having handled large complex losses in my prior roles, the next natural step for me is to manage a new branch from the ground up. Our solid team is growing weekly and we look forward to accepting claims in our branch starting April 15th” stated Brandon Boyd, On Side Hamilton Branch Manager.
As published in the 2018 March Issue of Insurance People Magazine: On Side Restoration is poised for a good year in 2018. Branch expansion plans are in full swing, technological advancements are evolving, and the company is getting attention for its unique Canadian ownership model. Craig Hogarth, president and CEO of On Side Restoration Services, said, “We’re excited to turn our attention to growth after a few years of hunkering down, re-evaluating our processes and improving our internal efficiencies. Although we’re still strengthening our project-management technology and interface with Xactimate, we’re now at a level where our accomplishment is getting recognized – and more work is the result of our collective diligence.” Hogarth continued, “It’s a good feeling to stretch out again and begin to extend our reach into more parts of the country.” The company is set to open several new locations in Ontario this year, as well as a branch in Halifax, N.S., as was announced last November. The company is also looking for acquisition opportunities to supplement its expansion plans. This growth responds to insurance providers committed to supporting these new locations, which is a validation of the company’s structure and special capabilities. Despite operating over 22 branches, the company can act as one during a CAT situation. One owner, one executive team, one operations team and one system have resulted in improved communication and consistency. In the end, the company sees this focused capability as better for its clients. On Side consistently demonstrates during catastrophes that it can swiftly bring in additional resources, while its proprietary internal project-management system allows for transparent, hands-on administrative support, communication and backup – no matter where the CAT is taking place. With no shortage of challenges facing the industry, On Side has been encouraged by healthy NPS scores and climbing KPI scores. Branch by branch, On Side continues to work hard to put customers first and keep the lines of communication open. Given its growth, On Side is looking for qualified personnel who hold customer-centric values. Jobs of all types can be found at onside.ca/jobs

We’re In This Fight Together Vancouver, BC – On Side Restoration is pleased to announce their continued partnership as a Platinum National Sponsor with Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC). “On Side Restoration has always had a very close connection with WICC back in Western Canada. Generally we support our employees to give of their time to charitable causes, but especially to WICC. On Side staff have held positions on the WICC Board from Chair and Director roles, to volunteers on event day. We also helped originate and run the golf fundraiser for over 10 years that now proudly sports WICC’s name. Giving back and fighting alongside the insurance industry for such an important cause is what keeps us returning as a National Sponsors” stated Craig Hogarth, President and owner of On Side Restoration. This past year On Side also stepped up by entering a team in the Toronto Relay For Life (RFL) event that took place at Downsview Park in June. The On Side Allies comprised of 20 individuals made up of both On Side employees and family members. The company hopes to have even larger team turn out in 2018 and their fingers are also crossed for good weather. Marketing and Communications Manager for On Side and Communications Director for WICC Ontario Chapter’s Board of Directors, Sonia Manson stated, “It was definitely a wet relay this past summer but our spirits for the event were not dampened in the least. If anything our group was excited to share with other staff what took place and what they’re looking forward to next year. The new event format is much more family friendly with a 6pm-12am run time.” Ms. Manson, RFL Team Captain continued, “Although we raised additional funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, even more importantly we helped to raise awareness for cancer. As I get older I see more of my friends and family members being negatively impacted by this intrusive disease. It is not affecting ‘them’, an unknown individual that we’re not aware of or close to. It is affecting ‘us’ and we need to help each another. With enough focus, energy and resources, finding a cure for cancer in our lifetime is a possibility. To this end, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to take action through WICC.” As per the standard National Sponsor commitment, On Side pays $15,000 per year, for a total of $45,000 over a three year period. This is On Side’s second term committing as WICC National Sponsors. About WICC (Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade). Since the inception of WICC in 1996 over $13.7 million has been raised in support of cancer research and education. This has been achieved via industry support at WICC functions, including dinners, learning breakfasts, concerts, relays, and golf tournaments. Many individuals, companies and associations related to the insurance industry also hold or sponsor events to raise funds for WICC or directed the proceeds of their annual events to WICC. Vancouver, BC – On Side Restoration Services Ltd. is developing a plan to respond to the situation in Fort McMurray and the company would also like to assist with a larger mobilization of cross-industry personnel. Given the sheer scale of the Fort McMurray Wildfire event, and the pending need to get as many skilled resources on the ground as is possible, the community would strongly benefit by a cooperative approach to help bring in as many resources as possible. In reality, many companies in eastern and western Canada have been experiencing below normal claims levels. As a result, many companies may have been forced to reduce hours for experienced staff. Now with the Fort McMurray wildfires the dilemma facing these companies now is: do we send our already scarce resources north to help? Can we afford to give up these valuable and limited resources such as Management, Project Managers and Field staff? Although responding to Fort McMurray’s needs may mean increased revenue in the short-term, it could also mean falling behind with their home market needs. Failure to serve this core business could have long-term and lasting negative impact on the enterprise. For organizations that want to participate in the Fort McMurray response, but don’t currently have the capacity to release ‘teams’ of people, On Side Restoration is proposing to provide temporary employment for these company’s under-employed and available staff for work in Fort McMurray. There is potential for significant work with considerable overtime during the response effort. In return, On Side would offer compensation for referring or loaning these workers. Further, On Side would enter a non-solicitation agreement with your company where On Side would agree to not hire these employees after the Fort McMurray assignment was complete. On Side would also inform clients of the resource source to ensure the various restoration companies would receive recognition for their efforts in the response. With this arrangement, On Side would receive access to skilled field resources that support a broader coordinated industry response. Resources needed are field supervisors, carpenters, water technicians, contents and cleaning, as well as skilled restoration labour. The companies providing resources will be recognized for helping respond to this unprecedented disaster while still being able to retain their focus on their home market. Under-utilized or available resources can be fully utilized which can help staff retention, without risk of competitor recruitment. On Side Restoration sees this as a positive and plausible coordinated effort and the company asks for your input on how to make this program work.
