SOCKtember Drive Supports 28 Charities

On Side Restoration Ltd. (“On Side Restoration”, “On Side” or the “Company”) recently completed its second annual SOCKtember donation drive where the company and its vendors accumulated socks for over 28 charities. Socks have often been identified by societies and shelters as one of the most needed items for the people who use their services.

Ever since the challenge was issued by a United States restoration podcaster named DYOJO, September is slowly becoming known as SOCKtember. Last year On Side took up the challenge as the only Canadian company competing with other restoration companies in the USA. This year, On Side increased their sock donations by 33% and their total count, collectively from all branches across Canada, stands at 45,269 pairs of socks!

A bit of friendly competition that includes pizza lunch prizes, mix in some bragging rights between branches, and this is all it takes to ignite the generosity that naturally exists at On Side. Our culture of helping others in need goes beyond our day-to-day work of floods and disaster.”

Irwin went on to challenge others in the emergency restoration sector by adding, “Get your employees on board! As a restoration industry, let’s put an end to cold feet every winter!”

While the world is complicated and Canadian winters are tough, the simple gift of a pair of warm socks goes a long way for a person in need in any community.
