Last week, On Side said farewell to their President Alain Fortin of 4+ years, and effective today, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the company is pleased to announce the appointment of Luc Tanguay as President, On Side Restoration.

Mr. Tanguay joined Intact in 2008 as a manager in the Commercial Lines Actuarial department and over the last 16 years, progressed through multiple leadership roles in corporate personal lines and commercial lines of insurance. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President, Commercial Lines of Intact Insurance.

“Luc is a leader who shows genuine care for people and invests in their development. He’s curious and a great listener, which has allowed him to successfully drive change and challenge the status quo within the teams he guides,” shared Patrick Barbeau, Chief Operating Officer, Intact. “It is these same characteristics and his wide knowledge of Intact and commercial environments, that make him an excellent choice to lead On Side.”

Alain Fortin’s next steps include returning to “la belle province” to fulfill his key appointment as Senior Vice President, Intact Insurance, Quebec. Mr. Fortin joined Intact at its inception, with a background in both operational and financial roles. He has taken on increasingly important roles in customer service and claims, worked closely with their partners, and led On Side upon its acquisition by Intact in 2019. Under Alain’s leadership, On Side has experienced exceptional growth, doubled in size, and continued its expansion across Canada.
