Challenge

On August 22, 2015, at approximately 5:00 am, the Vancouver Fire Department was alerted to a fire at the apartment building. Approximately 60 people were evacuated from the building.

The fire damaged the roof structure and internal components. On Side restoration was brought on board to provide reconstruction services following the mitigation performed by another contractor.

A few challenges included the City of Vancouver permit process and bylaw requirements. Many mechanical and fire suppression systems required upgrade.

Project Timeline & Approach

Project tender submitted in March 2016.
Reconstruction services started April 2016 and completed January 2017 with final occupancy.

Results

The Housing Society was pleased with On Sides quote, rewarded them the job and final occupancy was seen swiftly in January 2017.
