On Side is Proud to Host 4th Annual Drive-Thru Donation Drive for Boyle Street Community Services

Our On Side Restoration branch in Edmonton, along with other co-sponsors, is back with its fourth annual drive-thru donation drive. This is an event where we collect in-kind donations for individuals that depend on the Boyle Street Community Services (BSCS) and programs, especially during the winter months. If you are interested in supporting this great cause, and are located within the Edmonton area, check out the information below.

What: Boyle Street Community Services ‘Drive-Thru’
Where: On Side Restoration’s parking lot (18547 104 Ave, Edmonton)
Date: Saturday, September 23
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

In its fourth year, we are set to stock the BSCS emergency donation room with things like reusable bags, adult-sized warm winter items, travel sized toiletry products, sleeping bags and a lot more.

What to expect from this year’s Sci-Fi themed event:

The On Side parking lot will be transformed into a scene straight out of Science Fiction! When you drop in or drive by to donate items, you will be greeted by Sci-Fi characters, cheery volunteers, free food, music, exotic and classic cars and can enter a draw to win prizes and giveaways. You may encounter aliens, furry mascots or Storm Troopers along the route, and you are invited to strike a pose in the photo booth.

Here’s a little back story of how BSCS and On Side started their relationship and this donation drive:

After a flood at BSCS, the On Side team in Edmonton was moved by the BSCS community members and realized the need to support them. What started out as a job quickly became a partnership that supported not just the physical structure of the community centre, but also the material needs of those that BSCS serve.

Dwayne Harris, Operations Manager, Edmonton said, “This is our fourth year, and we are proud to support BSCS again! Giving back to the community aligns with our company values and our staff recognize this need and the importance it holds. This event is the highlight of our year where we come together as a community and collaborate with our industry partners and Boyle Steet.”

Last year, the total cash donations reached $13,000 along with ample quantities of sweatpants, socks, sleeping bags, and travel size personal hygiene items. This year the goal of the donation drive is to surpass last year’s achievements.
