The Director, Finance Operations plays a key role in leading end-to-end finance operations, ensuring rigorous internal controls and compliance, and overseeing audits and performance analysis. The role optimizes processes, modernizes systems, and leads the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams within a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. As a strategic partner, the Director supports other departments and contributes directly to the organization’s growth and financial strength.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $140,000–$160,000 /year
- Salary is based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
- Annual Performance Incentive Bonus – Percentage of base salary subject to personal and company performance.

What You’ll Do
- Lead finance operations activities, ensuring rigorous, structured management aligned with organizational objectives.
- Oversee all transactional and accounting functions for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of the financial information produced.
- Contribute to the compensation cost budgeting process and collaborate with the Payroll department on the management of the Payroll Accountant resource.
- Participate in acquisition activities and oversee the integration of finance operations.
- Maintain a robust internal controls framework to reduce financial and operational risks.
- Coordinate internal and external audits of finance operations (including sales taxes) and follow up on recommendations.
- Identify variances, trends, and financial issues, and provide recommendations.
- Lead or contribute to initiatives to improve finance systems, including ERP, reporting tools, and automation.
- Coach, engage, and develop the AR and AP team while fostering a culture of collaboration, rigor, and accountability.
- Act as a partner to internal departments and maintain effective professional relationships.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing multi-site team members.
- CPA designation.
- Advanced expertise in finance operations, including AR/AP, transactional accounting, month-end close, and audits.
- Deep understanding of internal controls, compliance, and accounting standards.
- Experience optimizing processes, automating, and modernizing systems such as ERP and reporting tools.
- A structured mindset with the ability to build robust, scalable processes.
- Ability to coach, develop, and engage a team in a demanding environment.
- Effective management of priorities, objectives, and performance.
- Clear, structured, and solutions-oriented communication, with the ability to translate financial topics for non-financial audiences.
- Bilingualism is an asset as day-to-day collaboration occurs with national departments.
